About Us
rural and proud

Our Story
I grew up on the same stretch of prairie my family’s farmed for five generations. My parents still live on that land, and it’s where I learned what hard work really looks like; early mornings, late nights, and doing things right, not fast.
Like a lot of farm kids, I left for a while. I lived all over Alberta, chasing opportunity and trying to see what else was out there. But no matter where I went, nothing ever felt like home; not the way it does out here, where the stars aren’t buried under city lights and hard work still means something.
When my wife and I found out we were having our daughter, that pull back home got stronger. We moved to Medicine Hat; close enough to family, but still rooted in the rural life I grew up with. I wanted her to be raised around people who wave when they drive by, where days are measured by weather and effort, not screens and schedules.
That’s where Grain & Grit started. I felt like our way of life didn’t have a voice; at least not one that truly represented us. Everything out there felt like a walking billboard for a beer company or a truck brand, and none of it said anything real about who we are or what we stand for.
Grain & Grit was built to change that. It’s for the ones who work hard, stay humble, and take pride in where they come from. The ones who don’t need flash to prove their worth; just a clean shirt, a good day’s work, and a whole lot of grit.
This brand isn’t about trends or pretending to be country. It’s about belonging to a place, a way of life, and a kind of pride that’s earned, not handed out.
